Dear Friends,

Last summer over 36,000 people from all over our province registered to vote for a new leader for the Liberal Party of Newfoundland and Labrador in order to make change happen. Those people chose Dwight Ball.  As you know, it was the start of an exciting time in our province!

Our province is embracing change.

Soon, registered Members and Supporters of the Liberal Party of Newfoundland and Labrador will select a candidate for the District of Signal Hill-Quidi Vidi.

With your help, I will be our candidate for change.

I live in Georgestown with my wife Deirdre and I’ve been an active community volunteer, serving on many community boards.

Throughout my life, I have balanced entrepreneurship, advocacy and activism. I’ve worked for better health care, open government, stronger communities and youth engagement, while operating a national patient advocacy consultancy and an international document production support service.

Most recently I have become a tireless advocate for better access to quality health care for everyone in the province.

I’m proud to have been a member of the Liberal Party for more than 30 years. My public service includes terms as public policy analyst, researcher and advisor to premiers, ministers and the Official Opposition. I’m particularly proud of my role as lead Opposition analyst in the Bill 29 debate where I ensured public awareness of government’s plans to close down public access to information.

This is a great opportunity for you to become a part of making change happen by signing up to vote in the liberal nomination (you can do that here) and by supporting me to be your Liberal candidate.

To make change happen, encourage your family and friends to register and vote.

Simon Lono
